Wesleyan’s nursing program ranked 26th nationally by healthcare website

Buckhannon, W.Va. — West Virginia Wesleyan College’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program has been ranked first in West Virginia and 26th in the nation by RNCareers.org. To help students in their search for a top RN program, the education experts at RNCareers.org publish their annual findings of the best nursing programs in the country and each state.

Using National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) first-time pass rates, program accreditation, number of students taking the exam, and other key data, RNCareers.org ranks Commission on Collegiate Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and state-approved nursing programs.

RNCareers.org evaluated nine Associate Degree in Nursing (AND) and seven Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs in West Virginia. Nationally, the group evaluated 646 BSN programs at institutions of all sizes. This is the fourth year RNCareers.org has released their evaluations and rankings.

The recent ranking is not the first time, Wesleyan’s School of Nursing has been rated as the best program in West Virginia.  Recently, the Community for Accredited Online Schools ranked Wesleyan as the Top Nursing Schools in West Virginia.

Wesleyan’s first-time NCLEX passage rate for BSN graduates has averaged 94% for the last five years.  Graduate students in nursing have also enjoyed great success.  The MSN-Family Nurse Practitioner students have a first-time pass rate on national certification exams that has averaged 98% for the last several years.

Wesleyan’s School of Nursing offers the following degree programs:  Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing, Post Graduate Certificate in Family Nurse Practitioner, and Doctorate of Nursing Practitioner.

Wesleyan’s program is fully accredited by the West Virginia Board of Examiners for Registered Nurses and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc.
