Phoebe S. Hyre

Phoebe S. Hyre, 81, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Sunday, December 8, 2019, at her home.

She was born November 26, 1938, in Upshur County, W.Va., a daughter of the late James Bryant and Ura Grace Tenney Campbell.

On May 5, 1958, she married Ray Hyre, who survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Brent Hyre and wife Denise, Craig Hyre and wife Kathy and Dirk Hyre all of Buckhannon and Otis Hyre of Morgantown, W.Va.; one daughter, Rachel Lynn Stump and husband Teddy of Buckhannon; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, JoAnn Sponagle and Karen Mills. 

Phoebe was a homemaker and a Christian by Faith.

Friends will be received Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon.
