Manufacturing Day Comes to Randolph County

ELKINS, W.Va. – AHF Products joins 3,000 other events around the nation for Manufacturing Day with its educational display at the West Virginia Forest Festival. The display is designed to teach students and the public about the manufacturing of wood products made at the largest pre-finished hardwood flooring plant in the United States located in Beverly, West Virginia.

“Across the nation, manufacturers like AHF Products are reaching out to communities and students this week to educate them on the great things manufacturing does for this country and the jobs it creates,” said plant manager Blaine Emery. “We are fortunate that Manufacturing Day aligns so well with the West Virginia Forest Festival that allows us to bring these two worlds together.”

Manufacturing Day is traditionally held on the first Friday in October and was established in 2012 by the National Association of Manufacturers, the Manufacturing Institute, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership.

“Every year, our plant ships out thousands of truckloads of hardwood flooring that are sold around the country,” said Emery. “Manufacturing right here in Randolph County makes that possible.”

The AHF’s Randolph County facility opened in 1989 along U.S. 250 and has 17 acres under roof. The plant manufacturers flooring from oak, hickory and maple, and direct employs hundreds of workers. An additional 85,000 square feet of distribution area is currently under construction.
