With the “Welcome Home” Homecoming 2019 officially kicking off on Thursday, October 24, entries are now being accepted for the Fairmont State Homecoming Parade on Saturday, October 26 at 10 a.m.

“Homecoming is all about welcoming home our alumni and we are thrilled to have them home again,” said President Dr. Mirta Martin. “This year we will host the parade on Saturday morning for the second year to allow even more alumni to attend and participate. Our alumni are the heart of our event and this allows even more of our Falcon community to enjoy the parade.”

Lineup will begin at 9 a.m. with the parade beginning at 10 a.m. and ending on campus. This year Fairmont State’s University Relations and Marketing will be hosting a livestream of parade on the Fairmont State University Facebook page.

“We are excited to allow Falcon family members from across the country and across the globe the ability to participate in homecoming 2019 through our live stream,” Jessie Sharps, Homecoming committee chair, said.

“Our alumni and Falcon community are such a strong part of Fairmont State. The goal of Homecoming is to bring our alumni home—where they belong! We hope everyone will join us for our parade on Saturday morning and all of our Homecoming activities,” Dr. Martin said.
