St. Joseph’s Hospital welcomes pediatrician Lawanna Starks, MD

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — St. Joseph’s Hospital is pleased to welcome Dr. LaWanna Starks. 

Dr. Starks is a pediatrician who offers comprehensive healthcare for infants through age 18. She will provide newborn and follow up care, well child visits, immunizations, care for acute and chronic illnesses and general and sports physicals.

Dr. Starks attended The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She practiced as a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, first at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, then at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Dr. Starks received her Medical Degree from the University of Arkansas in Little Rock, and then the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis. She completed Pediatric Residency Training at the University of Minnesota with experiences at St. Paul Children’s Hospital, Minneapolis Children’s Hospital, and Hennepin County Trauma Center.

Dr. Starks has been in private practice most recently in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dr. Starks is Board Certified in Pediatrics and is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
