Weston to hold Make It Shine Day on April 6

The City of Weston is conducting its annual Make It Shine Day on Sat., April 6.  The preceding week, April 1 through April 5, is Cleanup Week and will be devoted to providing Weston residents with a hauling away of appropriate items.

Weston residents interested in using this special Weston program should call the City Building at least the week before the Cleanup at 304-269-6141 to make your reservation for pickup.  There are some restrictions, ie., no paint, no TVs, no computers, no tires.  There will be a pickup of small furniture but no large pieces. The City will not be able to return to a neighborhood, once they have picked up there.

This is the perfect opportunity for residents to clean up around their residences after a long winter.  The city also encourages landlords to have their renters take advantage of this opportunity to clean up their residences.  One of the most pressing complaints about residences in Weston are those rental properties when the renter does not keep up their homes, affecting the homes around them.

It is also suggested that residents who have Mountain Waste Services are entitled to the disposal of two bulky items during a month at no additional charge.  These items include washing machines, clothes dryers, dishwashers, stoves, microwave ovens, and other household items.  Items containing Freon will be charged extra for disposal. You can call 304-269-2776 for more information.
