Oma June Holden

Oma June Holden, 88, of Buckhannon, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, at Colonial Place in Elkins. 

She was born on July 20, 1930, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Wesley Addison and Burla Jemima Pritt Cutright. 

On August 16, 1951, she was united in marriage to her loving husband of 67 years, Burton Holden, who survives. Also surviving are two brothers: Marden E. Cutright and wife Ina Jean of Buckhannon and Gary L. Cutright and wife Anna Lee of Buckhannon; three nieces:  Shelley and husband Kevin Strader, Carolyn and husband Greg Freer, and Linda and husband Waid Kidd; one nephew: Wesley Lynn Cutright and wife Danelle; two great nieces: Alecsis Butler and Adler Cutright; and many other nieces, nephews, and extended family.  

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three sisters: Mildred and husband Red Werner, Marie and husband Glen Smith, Thelma and husband Junior Moreland; two brothers: George Cutright and wife Maxine and Herman Cutright; and one sister-in-law Gray Norman. 

Mrs. Holden was a Navy wife and travelled many places with her husband while he was in the service. She attended the Tennerton United Methodist Church and the Christian Fellowship Church, and enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, shopping, and eating out at restaurants. 

She also dearly loved her cats and will be fondly remembered for her quick-wit and old-fashioned sayings.

The family will receive friends at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019, from 1-1:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Robert Anderson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park.
