Obituary Paul Harris

Paul Wade Harris Sr., 71, of Buckhannon passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family in the comfort of his own home on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019 after an extended illness.

He was born in Lewis County on February 24, 1947 a son of the late Wayne Harris and Kathleen Rowan Harris.

Forever carrying their memories of Paul are two children: Cynthia Harper and husband, David, and Paul Harris Jr. and wife, Mary S., along with their mother Mary L. Harris, all of Buckhannon; five grandchildren: Austin Lane and companion, Brittney Tenney, Martika Lane, and Kelsi, Kellie, and Nathanial Harris; one great grandchild, Kaden Lane; one sister Agnes Bailey of Weston; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by one brother, Stanley Harris.

Paul is a U.S. Army Veteran who worked for several years at the WV Glass Factory.  He also worked at the State Hospital and volunteered for the Lewis County EMS.  He loved hunting, fishing, God and his grandchildren. Paul also had a special fondness for M & M’s, which he called peanuts.

Family and friends will gather at Tomblyn-Clutter Funeral & Cremation located at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the Tomblyn-Clutter Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ricky Hymes officiating. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at the W.Va. National Cemetery in Grafton, with military honors accorded by the U.S. Army and the Upshur County Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made directly to Tomblyn-Clutter Funeral and Cremation (21 Elnora Circle, Buckhannon, WV 26201) to aide with his final expenses.
