Some Mountaineer Gas customers experienced low pressure Wednesday night

BUCKHANNON – As temperatures plunged below zero, some households in Buckhannon had a colder-than-expected night Wednesday due to issues with natural gas provided by Mountaineer Gas.

The manager of communications with Mountaineer Gas, Larry Meador, said one of the utility’s suppliers lost pressure on the line going to some customers in Buckhannon.

“We had our guys going door-to-door to relight customers’ appliances and turning them back on,” he said. That process was to have been completed Thursday afternoon.

Meador said there were a total of 28 outages, including the ones in Buckhannon and a few in Beverly, Belington and Glady.
