A Spencer man was arrested after allegedly firing at two DoorDash delivery drivers who followed GPS directions down the wrong driveway, according to a West Virginia State Police release.

Larry Epling, 65, was arrested about 4 p.m. October 2 on six counts of wanton endangerment, two counts of assault and two counts of prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

The drivers were Spencer residents, ages 48 and 57. Senior Trooper D.A. Goodnight spoke with them after a September 28 report of gunfire on Arnoldsburg Road in Spencer.

“The two stated that they were delivering an order for Door Dash and the GPS took them the wrong way down a long driveway,” the State Police release states.

The drivers told Goodnight they were stopped in their car checking directions when a man, later identified as Epling, fired several shots at them, the release said. They reported that one shot hit their vehicle.
