Larry Haney, age 79, of Buckhannon, died unexpectedly at his home on Monday, September 14, 2026. He was born on July 13, 1947, in Randolph County, a son of the late Harold O. and Emily Lee Scott Haney. He was united in marriage on July 17, 1971, to Mary Ellen Post Haney, who survives.
He is also survived by two sons: Ryan Haney of Buckhannon and Justin and wife, Kim Haney, of Buckhannon; and two grandsons, Caleb and Carter Haney of Buckhannon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Marilyn Currence.
Larry enjoyed attending sporting events in which his grandsons participated. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during Vietnam, and a member of Buckhannon VFW Post #3663. He was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church.
The family has honored his wishes for cremation, and there will be no services.
