FAIRMONT, W. Va. –  The Mountain East Conference announced Monday the winners of this week’s Women’s Soccer Player of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan. 

West Virginia State’s midfielder Cali Questel was selected as the MEC Offensive Player of the Week, while West Virginia Wesleyan’s goalkeeper Reyna Dalton was named the MEC Defensive Player of the Week.

Questel, a sophomore from Louviers, France, scored two goals with four shots on goal throughout the week. Louviers scored the game-winning goal in the Yellow Jackets win over Shawnee State on Sept. 9. Questel added her other goal for the week in WVSU’s draw with Charleston on Sept. 13. 

Dalton, a sophomore from Zanesville, Ohio, totaled 19 saves over two games. The Bobcat’s goalkeeper earned back-to-back shutouts, with 14 saves against Concord and five against Glenville State on Sept. 9 and 13, respectively.
