Wesleyan cross-country teams open season at Robert Morris Colonial Invitational
Upshur County’s Sept. 14-20 sports calendar features local golf, volleyball, cross country, soccer, football and tennis. Buckhannon-Upshur and West Virginia Wesleyan teams compete throughout the week at home and on the road.
Buckhannon-Upshur’s five-game unbeaten streak ended with a 2-0 loss to Huntington, as Aidan Garmestani scored twice. The Bucs led in shots and corners and played a man up late, but couldn’t capitalize.
Buckhannon-Upshur placed three runners in the top 12 and scored 73 points to finish second at the Chick-fil-A Invitational. Gwendolyn Rogosky led the Lady Bucs in sixth, followed by Isabella Bowers in eighth and Chloe Lewis in 11th.
Mitchell Whitley led Buckhannon-Upshur with a 24th-place finish as the Buccaneers placed ninth among 17 teams at the Chick-fil-A Invitational. B-U returns Saturday for the Adidas Challenge in North Carolina.
