BUCKHANNON — My Buckhannon is proud to launch another fall season of the Hank Ellis All‑Stars, recognizing standout Buckhannon-Upshur athletes who delivered exceptional performances across football, soccer, cross country, volleyball and golf.
Each week, one male and one female athlete earn the honor based on their impact, consistency and contributions to their teams.
For the week of Aug. 24–30, the Hank Ellis All‑Stars are Brogan Tenney and Coby Smith.
Tenney, a junior on the Buckhannon-Upshur girls soccer team, set the tone in the Lady Bucs’ lone match of the week — a 4-1 home victory over Woodrow Wilson. She opened the scoring in the first minute and added another goal in the 49th, finishing with a decisive two-goal outing.
Smith, a senior on the Buccaneer boys soccer team, put together a dominant two‑game stretch. He scored B-U’s lone goal on a penalty kick in a 2-1 loss to Martinsburg, then erupted for four goals and an assist in a 10-0 rout of John Marshall. His five goals across the week anchored the Bucs’ 1-1 record.
