Fred W. Eberle Technical Center offers CDL training in five to seven weeks

Fred W. Eberle Technical Center in Buckhannon is enrolling students in its commercial driver’s license (CDL) training program, an accelerated course the center says can be completed in five to seven weeks. Both daytime and limited evening sessions are available, giving working adults a path into the trucking and transportation industry without leaving the region.

The CDL program is part of FETC’s long-running focus on diesel and transportation training, one of the recurring tracks at the multi-county career and technical education center. Commercial drivers remain in steady demand across West Virginia and the surrounding states, and a CDL is the credential required to operate tractor-trailers and other heavy commercial vehicles.

Founded in 1968, Fred W. Eberle Technical Center was the first multi-county career technical center established in West Virginia and continues to serve as the regional hub for skilled-trades and allied-health training. Beyond CDL and diesel equipment technology, the center’s programs span welding, HVAC, automotive service, collision repair, carpentry, electrical construction wiring, industrial motor control, cosmetology, practical nursing, and medical assisting, along with adult workforce workshops on topics such as OSHA 10 certification, CPR and First Aid, and resume building.

The center is located at 208 Morton Avenue in Buckhannon. Prospective students can call 304-472-1259 or visit fetc.edu to learn more and apply.
