Softball Lady Bucs sixth; baseball Bucs 12th in latest rankings

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur softball Lady Bucs and baseball Buccaneers continue to appear in the MetroNews Rankings, although both teams dropped spots this week.

The Lady Bucs dropped two spots as they fell from fourth to sixth place as they have 55 points this week.

Cabell Midland garnered all 11 first-place votes and still remains in first in Class AAAA with 110 points.

University rests in second place with 94 points.

The softball poll is voted upon by 12 coaches (11 this week) across the state of West Virginia.

The Buckhannon-Upshur baseball team is still receiving votes but dropped one spot from 11th to 12th this week with four votes.

Morgantown remains in first place with 92 points as they received four of the 10 first place votes.

George Washington and Jefferson shared the other first place votes at three apiece as George Washington is second with 88 and Jefferson is third with 87.

The baseball poll is voted upon by a panel of 10 radio broadcasters and sports writers across West Virginia.
