Morrisey names three Fairmont State alumni to university Board of Governors

CHARLESTON — Gov. Patrick Morrisey announced the re-appointment of Jason Henderson and the appointments of Timothy Craig Jennings and Jonathan Board to the Fairmont State University Board of Governors. All three are Fairmont State alumni with backgrounds in finance, infrastructure, public policy and law.

“Fairmont State University is a cornerstone of education and economic growth in North Central West Virginia, and these three individuals represent the very best of what this institution produces,” Morrisey said. “Jason, Craig and Jonathan are accomplished professionals in their respective fields. I am confident their leadership will ensure that Fairmont State continues to provide world-class opportunities for its students and the community.”

Henderson, a Bridgeport native, is chief financial officer at Energy Transportation. After a life-altering accident in 2007, Fairmont State provided the academic and rehabilitative support that allowed him to complete his Business Administration degree before earning an MBA from West Virginia University. He is also the principal owner of Energy Resource Group, LLC, and an advocate for community safety.

Jennings, a 2003 Civil Engineering Technology graduate, was captain of the football team and president of the American Society of Civil Engineers chapter at Fairmont State. The Kingwood resident served 12 years as a Preston County commissioner, co-founded GET Concrete and Olympic Village, and worked as a producer at Bond Insurance Agency. He received the FSU Outstanding Young Alumni Award in 2015.

Board, a graduate of Fairmont State and the WVU College of Law, has advised state and federal agencies — including the Department of War and the VA — on health governance and technology. He was recently appointed executive director of the West Virginia First Foundation. A fifth-generation West Virginian, he has held executive leadership roles at Mon Health System and Vandalia Health.
