Monday, April 13
Hydrant flushing and flow testing begins as the City of Buckhannon Water Department starts its annual flushing program. Work will take place each weekday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. throughout the city water system and will continue until the program is complete. The schedule does not include any public service districts. Residents are encouraged to check their water before doing any light-colored laundry, as temporary discoloration may occur during flushing operations. Saturday, April 18
Free paper shredding, 9 a.m. to noon at the Public Works Facility, 395 Mud Lick Road. Sponsored by the Upshur County Solid Waste Authority, the event allows residents to securely dispose of documents on-site.

Trash can placement: Trash cans must be hidden from public view as much as possible during the week. Place them at the curb the night before collection and return them within 24 hours after collection.
Utility bill payments: Pay utility bills online at Municipal Online Payments or by phone at 1-866-933-4026. Setting up an account allows you to monitor your consumption.
Report repairs or concerns: To report issues such as potholes or damaged signs, call City Hall during business hours to submit a work order or use the Report a Concern tool.
