The Tygarts Valley Conservation District is urging cooperators to begin gathering required documents now ahead of the FY27 Agricultural Enhancement Program signup period, which opens May 4 and runs through May 29, according to a press release from the Tygarts Valley Conservation District.
TVCD serves Barbour, Randolph, Taylor, Tucker and Upshur counties. The district office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed on weekends and federal and state holidays.
Applications must be complete when submitted. TVCD cannot use materials from past years.
Required documents include a current Farm Service Agency (FSA) farm map, a completed cooperator agreement and a W-9 form. Cooperators who do not have current farm maps should contact their local FSA office.
Some applicants will also need a signed lease for rented land and soil sample results taken on or after July 1, 2023. Soil sample results are required for frost seeding, lime and small scale soil amendment practices.
All documents must be turned in together during the May 4-29 signup window. No early applications or documents will be accepted.
FY27 practices include frost seeding, lime, pollination projects, small scale soil amendment, urban agriculture, watering systems, invasive species management and heavy use area protection. Full practice descriptions and cost-share details will be available at signup.
Applications will be available for download from the district website starting May 4. A drop box is available outside office hours.
