Kristie Tenney ready to serve Upshur County

26th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Jake Reger administers the oath of office to incoming commissioner Kristie Tenney.

BUCKHANNON — The new year will usher in a new role for Kristie Tenney.

Tenney took the oath of office and was sworn in by 26th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Jacob Reger for a six-year term as an Upshur County commissioner at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the Upshur County Circuit Courtroom.

Tenney said she’d like to thank the voters of Upshur County for the privilege to serve the community.

“I am very excited to work for the people of Upshur County, and I want to thank everyone for allowing me this opportunity,” Tenney said following the ceremony. “As an official, elected by the people for the people, I will do my very best to serve the citizens of Upshur County and make it the best place for us all to live.”

Tenney will step in to fill the gap Jan. 1, 2019. Commissioner Troy A. “Buddy” Brady’s last day as commissioner is Dec. 31.
