Melvin Robert Perry Sr.

Melvin Robert Perry, Sr., age 88, of Buckhannon, WV, died Sunday, January 4, 2026, at his home.

He was born January 25, 1937, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Henry Charles and Pauline Garland Koon Perry. On August 9, 1969, he married Naomi Margaret Boggs who preceded him in death on September 21, 2017.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn Kay Baisden; one grandson, Larry Lee; three sisters, Ava May Perry, Zelma Lee Upton and Barbara Perry; one son-in-law, James L. King and three brothers-in-law, Arthur and LeRoy Bennett and Scott Davis.

He is survived by two sons, Melvin Perry, Jr. and wife Holly Marie of Buckhannon and Stephen Perry and Flossie Marsh of Weston, WV; two daughters, Nancy I. King of Buckhannon and Debbie Friend and husband Larry of Weston; ten grandsons, seven granddaughters; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Arnold Wayne Perry and wife Carol of Buckhannon and Charles “Mac” Maxwell Perry and wife Iris of Tallmansville, WV; three sisters, Wilma Jean Bennett of Haltom City, TX, Wanda Lue Bennett of Buckhannon and Alma Waveline Davis of Cheraw, SC; one son-in-law, James Baisden of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Perry was a Production Manager. He served in the U.S. Army from March of 1956 until March 1959. He attended the Full Gospel Church.

Friends will be received Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 11 AM until 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Chad Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Lanham Cemetery in Queens, WV. The Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct full Military Honors.
