WVWC volleyball players earn MEC weekly honors

West Virginia Wesleyan teammates Bhrooke Axe and Alexis Moescher were named the Mountain East Conference Volleyball Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week after helping the Bobcats to wins over Concord and Glenville State.

BRIDGEPORT — The Mountain East Conference announced Monday the winners of this week’s Volleyball Player of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.

West Virginia Wesleyan teammates Bhrooke Axe and Alexis Moescher are the MEC Volleyball Players of the Week.

Axe, a junior from York, Pennsylvania, took the Offensive Player of the Week honors after helping the Bobcats to wins against Concord and Glenville State. She finished with 42 kills and a .370 hitting percentage across nine sets. Axe ranks fourth in the MEC in hitting percentage and third in kills per set.

Moeschler, a senior from Bonner Springs, Kansas, finished with 5.78 digs per set across West Virginia Wesleyan’s victories against the Mountain Lions and Pioneers. She had 29 digs against Concord and 23 at Glenville State, and now ranks fourth in the MEC in digs per set this season.
