Appalachian Mutual Aid Collective Foundation to hold annual meeting & community pizza party

The Appalachian Mutual Aid Collective Foundation will hold its free Annual Meeting and pizza party at 4 p.m. Sept. 27 at First Presbyterian Church in Buckhannon, offering a limited shuttle, Facebook Live and volunteer recruitment.

The Appalachian Mutual Aid Collective Foundation (AMAC) will host its Annual Meeting and Community Pizza Party on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 13 S. Locust St., Buckhannon, WV. The event is free and open to the public.

This year’s gathering replaces AMAC’s traditional meal deliveries with an in-person celebration of food and fellowship. A volunteer-run shuttle service will be available for neighbors without transportation, limited to households within five miles of the church. Those unable to attend in person are encouraged to watch the meeting via Facebook Live.

About the annual meeting

As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, AMAC holds at least one official meeting each year. During the session, members and guests will review the past year’s work, discuss future collaborations, and elect officers and board members for 2025.

Volunteer opportunities

AMAC is seeking new volunteers who bring dedication and follow-through. Each year, the organization appoints two treasurers, two secretaries, and three board members. Current officers provide training and support to new volunteers.

  • Treasurers manage receipts, deposits, budgets, financial reporting, and donor thank-you letters, and handle annual state paperwork.
  • Secretaries record meeting minutes and assist with communications.

Community members with skills in spreadsheets, note-taking, or organizational tasks are especially encouraged to get involved.
