Delores Ann Smith

Delores Ann Smith, age 62, of Mabie, WV, died Monday, September 15, 2025, at Holbrook Healthcare Center in Buckhannon, WV.

She was born February 9, 1963, in Buckhannon, a daughter of Carolyn Black Smith who survives of Buckhannon and the late Rev. Everett Paul Smith.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by one sister, Donna Simmons and husband James of Mabie; four nephews, Christopher Koon and wife Jodi of Buckhannon, Travis Koon and wife Darlene of Buckhannon, Steve Koon and wife Lori of Lafayette, IN, and Brandon Koon and wife Esta of Charleston, WV; two nieces, Brittany White and husband Dustin of Ripley, WV, and Kelley Endicott and husband Josh of Yawkey, WV; several great-nieces and nephews; friend, Vicky Kelley of Buckhannon; and her beloved dog, “Little Baby Girl Tori May”.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, Everett Paul Smith, Jr.

Delores was a Nurses Aid and when she was able, she would attend The Way Of Holiness Church.

She was passionate about music, especially gospel music, and enjoyed watching TV shows Law & Order and Westerns.

Delores was the “leader of the train” at Holbrooks, and she encouraged others to join in the community activities through her compassion and caring.

Friends will be received Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV.
