Dane Icarius Grubb

Dane Icarius Grubb, 79, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018 at his home.

He was born May 7, 1939 in Buckhannon, a son of the late Ralph and Nora Fox Grubb Cogar.

On July 1, 1961 he married Anna Maelene Reed who preceded him in death on September 26, 2011.

Surviving are three daughters, Donna R. Wamsley of Adrian, W.Va., Marcella K. Gamble and companion James Bostic of Walkersville, W.Va. and Lori L. Manley and husband Robert W. of Buckhannon; two sons, Dwayne Edward Grubb of Morgantown, W.Va. and James Joseph Grubb and wife Alice of Winfield, W.Va.; five grandsons, Mitchell Wayne Hyre of Adrian, W.Va., Gary Dane Gamble of Chester, W.Va., Caleb Thomas Manley of Buckhannon, and Brandon Nathaniel and Jon Cameron Levi Grubb both of Winfield; one granddaughter, Lisa Ann Critchfield and husband Aaron of Buckhannon; two great-grandsons, Frankie Hyre of Adrian and Dodge Elijah Gamble of Chester; one great-granddaughter, RaeAnna Maelene Hyre of Adrian; two brothers, Ralph William Grubb and wife Terre of Grafton, W.Va. and Charles Grubb of Buckhannon; two sisters, Joyce Apple of Okla. and Patricia and two beloved cats, Banjo and Shego.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Anna Rae Wamsley; two sisters, Iris FloAnn Hayes and Melinda Jane Kennedy and his brother, Wilfrod Grubb.

Mr. Grubb was a Coal Miner, paratrooper for the U.S. Army and a member of The Way of Holiness Church in Buckhannon.

He was an avid fisherman and loved to collect four leaf clovers. His four-leaf clover collection contained thousands he had found over his lifetime.

Friends will be received Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Way of Holiness Church. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the church with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Hinkleville, W.Va.
