Norman Denver Hanifan

Norman Denver Hanifan, age 84, of Tallmansville, WV, died Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Holbrook Healthcare Center in Buckhannon, WV.

He was born August 27, 1940, in Cubana, WV, a son of the late Jess and Lola Zickefoose Hanifan. On August 27, 1960, he married Hila Marie Zickefoose, who preceded him in death on October 25, 2024.

Surviving are three daughters, Brenda Wagoner and husband Doug of Buckhannon; Karen McClure and husband Dave of Tallmansville; and Debbie Koon and husband Dave of Buckhannon; one sister, Betty Miller and husband Ralph of Buckhannon; three brothers, Carrol Zickefoose and wife Elizabeth and Darrel Zickefoose of North Ridgeville, OH; and Roger Zickefoose and wife Barbara of Buckhannon; twelve grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Marvin Hanifan of Buckhannon; one sister-in-law, Luella Hanifan of Buckhannon; one daughter-in-law, Debra Hanifan of Tallmansville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Hanifan; two grandsons, Kevin and Kaleb Wagoner; two great-grandsons, Tyler Warner and Walker Wagoner; one great-granddaughter, Brooke Keely; eight sisters; and four brothers.

Mr. Hanifan was a farmer.

Friends will be received Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wease Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Simmons Church Cemetery in Queens, WV.
