Family Easter Egg hunts and the Easter Bunny will hop into town soon

Upshur County offers numerous family-friendly Easter events in April featuring egg hunts, candy, games, and visits from the Easter Bunny, providing spring fun for children and adults alike.

Hop into the Spring and Easter season with a variety of family-friendly events throughout Upshur County this month.

From action-packed egg hunts to special visits from the Easter Bunny himself, Buckhannon is the epicenter for great memories of all ages. Whether it’s a child hunting for colorful eggs or an adult witnessing the fun, there is something fun for everyone to enjoy.

Celebrate this Spring season in Upshur County at the following events:

Saturday, April 12

  • Easter Egg Hunt by Nay Chapel & Ellamore Volunteer Fire Department from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. with refreshments from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held at the Ellamore Volunteer Fire Department.

Sunday, April 13

  • Easter Egg Hunt by Selbyville Volunteer Fire Department & James W. Curry Public Library, 2 p.m. at the James W. Curry Park in the Brooks Hill community.
  • Easter Egg Hunt April 13 at the Buckhannon Kroger. Line up at 2:30 p.m. on the porch in front of Kroger. Featuring photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny and games.

Saturday, April 19

  • Buckhannon Lions Club presents the annual Matt Hymes Memorial Easter Egg Hunt in the Buckhannon City Park. The hunt begins at 11 a.m. and will feature candy-filled eggs and prizes.
  • Easter Egg Hunt at Holly River State Park, Saturday, April 19, at 2 p.m. on park grounds near the offices. Aimed at children ages 0-12, refreshments will be served following the egg hunt. Sponsored by the Holly River State Park Foundation, Holly River State Park and volunteers.
  • Aletha Chapter No. 82 Order of the Eastern Star Easter Egg Hunt April 19 at Rock Cave Elementary School playground. Geared toward 0 to 12-year-olds, the fun begins at noon. There will be bikes, baskets, candy-filled eggs and money-filled eggs.
  • Easter Egg Hunt presented by the Warren District Volunteer Fire Department and Maniac Mountain. This free event begins at 2 p.m. and is geared toward multiple age groups from 0 to adult. Special needs friendly. 10,000 eggs will be hidden and dropped. Bounce houses, games, face painting, photo ops with the Easter Bunny, and more.
