Buckhannon Community Theatre announces exciting change to summer 2025 production (Update: No change)

Update 2/10/25: According to a social media post from BCT, “Due to a mix-up at the publisher, our original contract for Mamma Mia was approved! That means — drumroll please — the show is BACK ON!” If we receive an updated press release, we’ll be sure to share that with our readers.

Original press release: Buckhannon Community Theatre is excited to share an important update regarding their previously announced summer production.

Due to an extension of the national tour, the rights for Mamma Mia! are currently restricted and unavailable, preventing us from bringing the show to Buckhannon at this time. While we understand this news may be disappointing, we are thrilled to announce that Legally Blonde: The Musical will take its place as our highly anticipated summer production!

This high-energy, feel-good musical is packed with humor, heart and empowering messages that will inspire audiences of all ages. Featuring catchy songs, dynamic choreography and a story about perseverance and self-discovery, Legally Blonde promises to be a fantastic experience for both performers and theatergoers alike.

Show dates remain July 13-17, 2025, at the Colonial Arts Center, and we can’t wait to bring this vibrant production to life. Stay tuned for audition details and more exciting updates!

We appreciate the continued support of our incredible community and look forward to seeing you at the theater for a fabulous, pink-filled summer!
