Judith L. Miles

Judith L. Miles, age 85, of Buckhannon, died Monday, January 6, 2025, at Serenity Care Home in Buckhannon. She was born on April 13, 1939, in Upshur County, a daughter of the late Paul V. and Virginia L. Boram Miles. She was formerly married to the late Nicholas Caris of Ohio. In addition to her parents and former husband, she was also preceded in death by her long-time companion Donald McCoy.

She is survived by one son Mark A. Miles and wife Betsy Jo McGowan Miles of Buckhannon; one grandson Tyson Pugh of Buckhannon; a first cousin Sue Miles Nichols of Virginia; and best friend Mary Davis of Buckhannon.

Judy was employed for several years at Central National Bank, Key Centurion, and Bank One, where she was a Loan Officer, Head Teller, Collection Officer, and held several other positions. She retired from Bank One in 2000. She had been a member of the former Lorentz United Methodist Church. In younger years, she was an avid hunter and outdoorswoman, raising many dogs, mostly beagles. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to the Amish Country.

The family will receive friends at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel on Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 12-1:00 PM, with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Lorentz Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lorentz Cemetery Association, PO Box 353, Buckhannon, WV 26201.
