This week’s Hank Ellis All-Stars: Dawson Tenney and Mallory Hughes

BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another season of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week, we will select a male and female athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur who has had an exemplary week on the football field, soccer field, cross country course, volleyball court or golf course.

Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the weeks of Oct. 21 – Oct. 27 are Dawson Tenney and Mallory Hughes.

Tenney is a junior quarterback on the Buccaneer football team. Tenney led the Buckhannon-Upshur offense in their game with Grafton Friday night, running for 167 yards and three touchdowns on 18 attempts while throwing for another 20 yards.

Hughes is a junior on the Lady Buc soccer team. Hughes came up big for the Lady Bucs in their sectional opener against University last Tuesday, saving the game for B-U by heading a ball on defense that was heading towards an empty net in the second overtime period and then scoring the game-winning goal in a penalty kick shootout as the fifth shooter.

Congratulations to Tenney and Hughes as our weekly winners of the Hank Ellis All-Stars honor.
