Lacrosse Lady Bucs deal George Washington a 10-9 loss

TENNERTON – Heather Hayes scored five goals to lead the Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Buc lacrosse team to a hard-fought 10-9 win over the visiting George Washington Patriots.

The game was tied at 4-4 at the break before B-U pulled it out in the second half outscoring George Washington by a 6-5 score.

Mallory Moss added two goals while Kendall Defibaugh, Kendall Hefner and Kylie Hull each had one.

George Washington outshot the Lady Bucs by a 21-19 margin.

Defibaugh led the Lady Bucs with five ground balls.

Haylea Crihfield made eight saves in the win for the Lady Bucs.

Buckhannon-Upshur improved to 2-0 on the season heading into a key battle with University on Monday night.

They will play again Thursday at Fairmont Senior at 8 p.m.
