BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another fall season of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week, we will select a male and female athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur who has had an exemplary week on the football field, soccer field, cross country course, volleyball court or golf course.
Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of Oct. 26 – Nov. 2 are Alivia Cogar and Conner McKim.
Cogar is a junior on the Lady Buc volleyball team. Cogar was a key player for B-U in their two regional games at Cabell Midland. In a 3-2 win over Oak Hill, she had a team-high 10 kills to go along with 22 digs and nine assists. In a 3-0 loss to Cabell Midland, she had three kills, seven assists and a team-high nine digs.
McKim is a senior defensive lineman on the Buccaneer football team. On the final play of the game last Friday against Preston, while holding a 60-57 lead, McKim stopped quarterback Slaton Manko at the one-foot line, preserving the win for the Bucs as time expired. For the game, McKim had eight tackles and one tackle for loss.
