Volga man arrested for allegedly delivering Percocet, hydrocodone in Upshur County

Pugh

BUCKHANNON – A Barbour County man was arrested after he was allegedly found with hydrocodone and Percocet.

Dillon P. Pugh, 30, of Volga, was arrested for the delivery of a controlled substance, Percocet, and the delivery of a controlled substance, hydrocodone, both felonies.

According to the criminal complaint in the Upshur County Magistrate Clerk’s Office filed by investigating officer Cpl. Tyler Gordon with the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office, on Jan. 4, 2024, Gordon spotted a dark-colored Subaru Outback traveling west on West Main Street in downtown Buckhannon.

The vehicle was traveling “well below the speed limit” and drifting toward the center double lines numerous times, according to the report. In addition, the vehicle’s registration had also expired.

Gordon initiated a traffic stop on the above vehicle near the intersection of Brushy Fork Road Crossover and U.S. Route 33 and identified the driver, his young child, who was in the rear seat of the vehicle, and the passenger as Pugh.

According to the report, Gordon asked Pugh to get out of the vehicle, at which time Pugh admitted to possessing marijuana, which Gordon could smell emanating from his person.

Gordon also located a black container in the pocket of Pugh’s pants that allegedly contained approximately two grams of suspected marijuana, multiple pink-colored, oval-shaped pills thought to be hydrocodone, and peach-colored pills suspected to be Percocet.

During the search of the vehicle, Gordon allegedly located a silicone container holding a brown powder substance, which field-tested positive for methamphetamine in Pugh’s backpack, the file says. Pugh allegedly admitted to delivering one hydrocodone and one Percocet to the driver earlier that day.

According to the file, the driver initially advised he was taking Pugh home, stating that Pugh lived in Volga, but they were traveling west, then south, when he should have been driving north or east to reach Volga. The driver allegedly admitted to having used methamphetamine and marijuana approximately two days prior.

Bail was set at $50,000 cash or surety by Upshur County Magistrate Alan Suder.

A conviction of the delivery of Percocet and the delivery of hydrocodone each carries a possibly penalty of imprisonment in a state penitentiary for not less than one year nor more than 15 years, a fine of up to $25,000, or both.
