Crunch Time Week 6; B-U and WVU can pick up big wins this week

BUCKHANNON – Brian has taken over the lead from me with a perfect 7-0 week. My problem is I am 0-4 on the WVU and Marshall games the last two weeks, picking against both teams during that span. Beckie remains in third while Katie is fourth and Monica is in fifth but closing the gap on those in front of her.

A quick check of the My Buckhannon staff standings.

Name              Week    Overall

Brian                   7-0         29-6

Duane                 4-3         26-9

Beckie                 3-4         23-12

Katie                   4-3         21-14

Monica               6-1         20-15

In the Scoreboard Showdown this past week, we had four readers tied for the lead with perfect 7-0 records. They were Mackenzie Michael, Jeremy Harsh, Jackson Spratt and Tim Snyder Congrats to that foursome on a great week! This week’s games can be found here. Get your picks in before the games kick off Friday night.

Now onto our games this week:

University (2-3) at Buckhannon-Upshur (2-3)

A win for B-U would go a long way in getting the Bucs into the playoffs this season. Unfortunately, the Hawks have dominated this series over the last couple of decades. I’m not sure the Bucs will be able to keep up with University’s team speed. The schedule will get easier for the Bucs after this one.

Duane: University; Brian: University; Beckie: University; Katie: University; Monica: University.

Grafton (0-5) at Elkins (0-5)

A game between two winless teams. It seems like Elkins has been more competitive in their games this season. Take the Tigers over the Bearcats.

Duane: Elkins; Brian: Grafton; Beckie: Elkins; Katie: Grafton; Monica: Elkins.

WVU (3-1) at TCU (3-1)

Can Neal Brown win on the road? He has had success at TCU going 2-0 in Dallas and 3-1 overall against the Horned Frogs. WVU needs three more wins to get bowl eligible. This could wind up being a big win for Brown and the Mountaineers.

Duane: TCU; Brian: TCU; Beckie: TCU; Katie: WVU; Monica: WVU.

The Final Four:

Bridgeport (4-1) at Brooke (3-2)

Duane: Bridgeport; Brian: Bridgeport; Beckie: Bridgeport; Katie: Bridgeport: Monica: Bridgeport.

Wheeling Park (2-2) at Morgantown (4-0)

Duane: Morgantown; Brian: Morgantown; Beckie: Morgantown; Katie: Morgantown; Monica: Morgantown.

West Virginia State (3-1) at West Virginia Wesleyan (0-3)

Duane: West Virginia State; Brian: West Virginia State; Beckie: West Virginia Wesleyan; Katie: West Virginia State; Monica: West Virginia State.

Old Dominion (2-2) at Marshall (3-0)

Duane: Marshall; Brian: Marshall; Beckie: Marshall; Katie: Old Dominion; Monica: Marshall.
