WESTON — The Friday, August 11, performance for the Weston Summer Music Series will move indoors to a church’s spacious social hall to accommodate the needs of the artists scheduled and to provide a comfortable listening environment for local music fans who attend the show.

Originally scheduled to perform in Holt Park on Main Street, Minor Swing – a popular and entertaining quartet specializing in what has been called “Gypsy Jazz” – will now set up in the air-conditioned St. Paul’s West Hall on Second Street to play from 6:30pm to 8:30 pm.

“We’ve had to contend with sudden rain storms and wind for just about every show in the Series,” explained Nate Stansbery, Weston City Manager. “Minor Swing plays some very valuable instruments, and their show is lively and well-rehearsed. So, we’re not going to take any chances with the weather. The air conditioning will be nice also.”

Led by violinist, Alasha Al-Qudwah, Minor Swing has been performing since 2017. Al-Qudwah is joined by guitarists, Ray Singleton and Andy Park, and bassist, Rodney Crihfield. Their music pays tribute to legendary jazz guitarist, Django Rhinehart, with upbeat performances that engage their audiences.
There will be no admission charge for seating for the event. Doors open at 6pm and guests are encouraged to bring their own beverages.
