Hull, Hitt and Moreland dominate Elkins Raceway, fireworks show this weekend

KERENS – Upshur County was well represented in Victory Lane during Saturday night racing at Elkins Raceway.

Buckhannon residents Roger Hull, Logan Hitt and Michael Moreland won the feature races of their respective classes on June 17.

Roger Hull placed first in the Cordial Logistics Edge Hot Mods feature race. Logan Hitt placed first in the Budweiser Dirt Super Late Models feature race. Michael Moreland placed first in the TKS Contracting/High Point Construction FASTRAK Crate Late Model feature race.

Dave Defibaugh, of Mill Creek, won the Holbrook on the Hill UMP Modifieds feature race. Kevin Keene, of Belington, placed first in the Louie’s Bargain Warehouse Street Stocks feature race.

Gather family, friends and fellow racing fans and head on down to Elkins Raceway on June 24 for the Mid-Season Championship and an extravagant fireworks show during intermission.

Weather permitting, pit gates will open this Saturday night at 4 p.m. with $30 admission. General admission to the grandstands begin at 5 p.m. with $15 admission. Children under the age of 11 are free to the grandstands. Hot laps will begin at 7:30 p.m.
