Fred Eberle Technical Center now seeking applications for Practical Nursing/Therapeutic Services Instructor

BUCKHANNON – Fred W. Eberle Technical Center is now accepting applications for a Practical Nursing/Therapeutic Services Instructor.

Position Title: Practical Nursing/Therapeutic Services Instructor
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid West Virginia License as Registered Nurse (RN) (Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
    Preferred)
  • Complete 3 years (6,000 clock hours) of professional wage-earning experience as a
    registered professional nurse, which should include 2 years of patient side nursing care
    experience in an acute, intermediate or long term care clinical facility. A maximum of
    two years of teaching, supervisory or administrative experience in nursing may count
    toward the three years. The most recent experience must have been within the past three
    years and beyond the training period as a nurse.

Preferred experience:

  • Prior teaching experience.
  • One year (2,000 clock hours) of experience in long-term care is required to teach a
    program that will result in a Certified Nursing Assistant License for students.
    Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for teaching the Practical Nursing Program and Therapeutic Services
    Curriculum. Have an understanding of the nursing and medical industries and prepare
    students for career success.
  • Maintain and follow all guidelines and records including but not limited to student
    records, documents, purchases, and receipts as required by the WVDE and FETC, etc.
  • Must pass the basic skills test and maintain certification requirements by participating in
    the professional teaching program through Marshall University or possess WVDE CTE
    Teacher Endorsement Code(s) 7041 and 7042.
  • Involvement in the appropriate WVDE approved career technical student organizations
    (SkillsUSA)
  • Other task and duties assigned as the Director or immediate supervisor may assign.

Salary: Contingent upon degree level and experience

Employment Term: 230 days (remainder of 2022-2023 school year pro-rated)
