BUCKHANNON, WV:  WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital is providing a Director’s Circle Sponsorship to the Buckhannon Community Theatre (BCT) in support of the 2023 season.

This “Director’s Circle” sponsorship will help BCT produce its 52nd full season this year with four distinct shows, the first full year of community theater in Buckhannon since 2019.

WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital and BCT presented Red Velvet Cake War, a comedy, at the newly-renovated Colonial Arts Center from May 4-7. Both organizations are also excited to present The Wizard of Oz, a family-friendly musical, this summer from August 5-8 at West Virginia Wesleyan College.

The year will finish with a dinner theater murder mystery entitled Death by Dessert in October, presented in partnership with the Buckhannon-Upshur Chamber of Commerce, and A Christmas Story in December, both presented at the Colonial Arts Center.

WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital is partnering with BCT to support high-quality, live theater in Buckhannon. BCT has developed generations of community leaders who have grown up on stage, returned as adults, and now mentor younger people. Community theater is an exercise in the deepest collaboration as people from all walks of life–teachers, children, businesspersons, teenagers, lawyers, and more–all come together to make something that is bigger than any single person’s greatest efforts.

BCT is continuing to seek sponsorships to offset production costs for the 2023 season; if you or someone you know is interested in a donation or sponsorship, please email buckhannonct@gmail.com. We’ll see you at the show!
