Three Lady Bucs earn Big 10 All-Conference postseason volleyball honors

TENNERTON – Three Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Bucs were honored on the recently announced Big 10 All-Conference Volleyball team.

Senior Kendal Currence earned First Team honors while sophomore Alyssa Abel and senior Tori Perkins were named to the Second Team.

The Lady Bucs finished fifth in the Big 10 Conference standings.

Philip Barbour, which won the Big 10 championship and the Class AA state title, led all teams with three First Team selections (Averi Carpenter, Emily Denison and MacKenna Halfin).

Denison was also named the Big 10 Conference Player of the Year.

Liberty’s Chris Vance was named the Big 10 Conference Coach of the Year.

Lacrosse Bucs crush Wheeing Park for first win, 15-3

Buckhannon-Upshur powered to its first win of the season with a 15-3 rout of Wheeling Park, using balanced scoring from seven players despite a near 30-minute delay. Braylon Oldaker, Easton Rice and Tobias Marple netted three goals each as the Bucs improved to 1-1.
