Football Bucs to wear special uniforms on Sept. 9 game during Military Appreciation Night

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneer football team will honor the military with a contest on Sept. 9 against Philip Barbour during their Military Appreciation Game.

During the game, the Bucs will be wearing special military-based uniforms.

Prior to the game, the Bucs will honor members of the armed forces.

“Our armed forces deserve to be recognized because of the sacrifice they make every day to protect our country,” noted Buckhannon-Upshur head coach Zach Davis about the Military Appreciation Game. “I was contacted by SSG Judd Holcomb about wearing the special military-based uniforms. He informed me that the National Guard would pay for them. So we decided to make a night out of it.”

“We invite everyone in the community to come out and support the Bucs as well as all of the local veterans in the area,” commented Holcomb.
