The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources announced Monday that 2,060 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in the Mountain State. That’s a decrease of 75 since the last report.
Locally, reported active case totals are: Upshur (39), Barbour (11), Lewis (16), Randolph (15) and Webster (9) counties. In Upshur County, that’s an increase of three active cases over the weekend.
No additional deaths have been attributed to the disease, according to the DHHR.
“The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reports as of June 27, 2022, there are currently 2,060 active COVID-19 cases statewide. There have been no deaths reported since the last report, with a total of 7,056 deaths attributed to COVID-19,” according to a press release.
About 220 residents are hospitalized with the virus, with 29 currently in intensive care and three on a ventilator. The daily percent positive was 10.84%.
About 55% of the state has been vaccinated for COVID-19.
