KERENS – After a few weeks of rain cancelations, the grandstands and pits were packed with eager racing fans on Saturday night at Elkins Raceway. As each driver unloaded their fun-on-four-wheels, excitement grew as engines warmed for the first race of the season.
It was an eventful evening of racing with passionate driving as adrenaline rushed through the veins of each driver when the green flag dropped. The checkered flag was all that mattered then.
Sadly, the thunder in the mountains of Randolph County was not only from the roaring engines at Elkins Raceway. Lightning and rain soon rolled in, delaying feature races to a later date. Follow the Elkins Raceway Facebook page for more details on rain dates, race results and other details.
