TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Buc track and field team looked sharp in their first outing of the year, a seven-team home meet Tuesday evening at Freal “Red” Crites Memorial Stadium.
The Lady Bucs won seven events, with Cameron Zuliani and Catherine Oliveto each winning multiple events.
Zuliani was victorious in the discus with a throw of 108-01 and took first in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 52.59.
Oliveto claimed first in the 200-meter dash with a clocking of 27.59 and the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:03.62.
Samantha Shreve took first in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:42.52, finishing almost 15 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher Baylee Jarrett of Webster who recorded a time of 5:5702.
The other individual win belonged to Chloe Cale in the long jump with a leap of 16-09.
The Lady Bucs picked up one relay win as the quartet of Miah Reger, Mia Sappey, Ashley Catlin and Shreve won the 4×800 with a time of 10:48.15.
Buckhannon-Upshur picked up seven runner-up spots as Cale took second in the 100-meter dash (13.50), Shreve in the 800-meter run (2:36.56), Jessica Williams in the 3200-meter run (13:24.60), Catherine Neely in the discus (100-10), the 4×200-meter-relay team of Reger, Allison Andrew, Zuliani, and Oliveto (1:53.88), the 4×400-meter-relay unit of Reger, Andrew, Catlin and Shreve (4:44.31) and the 4×102.5-shuttle-hurdle-relay team of Oliveto, Zuliani, Dezi Pugh, and Cale.
B-U earned two third places with Cale in the 100-meter hurdles (18.68) and Kasey Davis in the shot put (28-09).
The Lady Bucs easily won their home meet with 154 points.
Philip Barbour was second with 103 points while Fairmont Senior was third with 56.
The Lady Bucs will run again Friday at the Doddridge County Opener at 4 p.m.
