BUCKHANNON — Upshur County schools will dismiss early on Thursday in advance of an expected winter storm.

“All schools in Upshur County will be closing three hours early on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022 (12:30 p.m. dismissal) due to anticipation of inclement weather,” according to a message from the school system distributed Wednesday evening.

As much as 4-to-8 inches of snow are possible Thursday afternoon into early Friday morning, the National Weather Service warns. Read more about the forecast here.
