BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — Mayor Robbie Skinner, along with BFD Captain Brian Elmore and Lieutenant Linn Baxa, traveled to Columbus, Ohio on Tuesday for final inspection of Engine 11, the rescue engine that has been built for the Buckhannon Fire Department by the Sutphen Corporation, who is represented by Heritage Fire Equipment.

They met up with J.W. Jones, Captain with the City of Elkins Fire Department, and Harry Sutphen, of the Sutphen Corporation, to look over the 100% American-made fire engine.  While there is a final phase of equipment outfitting to be done, the manufacturing phase of the truck is now complete and the mayor officially signed off on city’s newest addition to its fire and rescue fleet.

Expect to see the City’s new engine in a bay at the Buckhannon Safety Complex by the end of January 2022.  The City of Buckhannon appreciates its partnership with the Sutphen Corporation, our neighbors in Elkins and the Elkins Fire Department.
