Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State College (GSC) Jazz Big Band and Jazz Combo will perform their annual holiday concert at the GSC Fine Arts Center Auditorium on Wednesday, November 17 at 7:00 p.m.

The ensembles, under the direction of Dr. Jason Barr, Department of Fine Arts Chair and Assistant Professor of Music, will begin with a set of traditional jazz favorites from a variety of styles including swing and rock. The second set will feature Glenville State’s talented students performing jazz inspired arrangements of holiday classics.

“This performance has become a tradition in Gilmer County. We invite all families, community members, GSC faculty, staff, and students to come celebrate the spirit of the season!” said Barr.

This year’s concert has been scheduled earlier than usual due to students not returning to campus following GSC’s Thanksgiving Break, which is in accordance with campus COVID-19 protocols.

Admission to the concert is by donation. For more information, contact Barr at Jason.Barr@glenville.edu or (304) 462-6340.
