Celebration of Life for beloved WVWC music professor Caroline Dees set for Nov. 6

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — A Celebration of Life service for Caroline L. Dees, retired West Virginia Wesleyan College Associate Professor of Music, will be held and livestreamed at Wesleyan’s Wesley Chapel on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 3:30 p.m.

Dees passed away August 24, 2021 at her home in Buckhannon and was interred in her family’s crypt in Atlanta, Ga.

Music will be performed by members of the Buckhannon Choral Society, Buckhannon Upshur High School Soundwaves, the Larry Parsons Chorale and WVWC Music Department. Former WVWC Music Department professor and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Larry Parsons, will moderate. Tributes and comments from the Wesleyan administration, friends, family and former students will be heard, as well as recordings of Miss Dees singing.

As a COVID precaution, those who wish to attend in person will be asked to wear a mask and to sign in before entering the chapel. Social distancing will be observed for the safety of everyone in attendance. On the day of the event, a livestream of the service can be viewed at https://www.wvwc.edu/campus-life/events/livestream
