Lady Bucs see winning streak come to a halt at the hands of Wheeling Park

WHEELING – All good things have to come to an end, and the winning streak of the Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Buc soccer team was halted at eight at the hands — and feet — of the Wheeling Park Patriots Saturday afternoon.

Buckhannon-Upshur dropped a 3-1 decision to the Patriots in non-conference action.

Wheeling Park raced out to a 2-0 lead at the break with goals by Lily Hanna and Merritt Delk.

Hanna added her second goal in the 53rd minute to make it a 3-0 game.

Buckhannon-Upshur’s lone goal came off the foot of Cameron Zuliani in the 54th minute with an unassisted score, which she scored from the left side of the top of the box.

Buckhannon-Upshur was outshot by a 13-4 margin while corner kicks were tied at 2-2, and B-U keeper Kyndal Davis made 10 saves.

The loss dropped the Lady Bucs to 8-3 overall.

Buckhannon-Upshur will look to start a new winning streak on Tuesday when they visit East Fairmont for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
