135 WVWC spring student-athletes named to MEC Academic Awards List

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference revealed its All-MEC Academic Teams and the Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the spring 2022 semester. The list includes sports that conducted their championship in the spring (acrobatics & tumbling, baseball, men’s basketball, men’s swimming, men’s tennis, men’s track & field, softball, women’s basketball, women’s lacrosse, women’s swimming, women’s tennis and women’s track & field).
 
 West Virginia Wesleyan Athletics had a total of 135 student-athletes recognized.
 
To be a member of the All-MEC Academic Team, the student-athlete must be a member of the active roster and have a grade-point average of 3.70-4.00 in the semester of their championship season. To qualify for the Commissioner’s Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be a member of the active roster and post a grade-point average between 3.25-3.69 in the semester of their championship season.
 
Over 1,300 student-athletes were recognized by the MEC, with more than half that earned Academic All-MEC honors (3.70 or higher) in their respective sports.
