Lee Roy Bennett

Lee Roy Bennett, 74, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, W.Va.

He was born April 13, 1944, in Upshur County, W.Va., a son of the late Howard Martin and Ethel Radcliff Bennett. On Oct. 22, 1966, he married the love of his life, Wanda Perry, who survives.

He is also survived by one son, Lee Roy “Junior” Bennett and wife Judy of Philippi, W.Va.; two daughters, Mary Losh and husband Lester of Philippi and Barbara Hannon and husband Edward of Buckhannon; five granddaughters, Tya Anderson of Keyser, W.Va., Madalynn Bennet and Leah Losh both of Philippi, Chelsey Peters and husband Ben of Grafton, WV and Brittany Peck of Buckhannon; six grandsons, Xavier Anderson, Isaiah and Owen Bennett and Adam Losh all of Philippi, Greg Tenney of Flemington, W.Va. and Jesse Losh of Salem, W.Va.; one great-granddaughter, Isabella Losh of Salem and one great-grandson, Ray Losh of Salem.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Charles Martin Bennett; eight brothers, Alva, Bobby, Ray, Jimmy, Billy, Arthur, Willis and Howard Bennett, Jr. and five sisters, Thelma Jean Linger, Anna Mae Ware, Mary Francis Small, Grace Cogar and Linda Perry.

Mr. Bennett was a coal miner and a born-again Christian who faithfully attended the Full Gospel Church.

Friends will be received Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Chad Lewis and Pastor Scott Krepps officiating. Burial will follow in the Lanham Cemetery in Queens, W.Va.
